ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal has said that education is inevitable for nation's development and progress.

Addressing the function in Higher Education Commission, Ahsan Iqbal said that our youth are anxious for a good life and job in Pakistan.

“Easy access to the HEC is our top priority. The Youth Development Project is a major initiative of our government. Under this program, students will get paid internship in which Rs 20,000 will be given per month. 5,000 students will also get scholarships under the same scheme.”

Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal said that today's summit is very important because the higher education sector will be discussed in it. “Higher education leads to universities that shape the future of the youth. It is not easy to build universities in remote areas. We don't just want to build universities but we want quality education. It is our vision that the youth of Pakistan get the best life.

“We want Pakistani universities to have a name in the world. Whenever the name of the best universities is mentioned, our universities should be on the first and second place. It is part of the vision to become the identity of such Pakistani universities,” he added.

Ahsan Iqbal further said that HEC has to play its role in this. 1000 students of Pakistan have done PhD in USA. We want other countries to give opportunities to Pakistani students.
