Educational activities resume at QAU

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Quaid-e-Azam University (QAU) reopened on Wednesday after Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal directed the Capital Administration to ensure resumption of academic activities and maintenance of peace in coordination with the university administration. QAU Vice-Chancellor Dr Javed Ashraf said that the academic activities resumed have resumed at the varsity after two days of suspension amid protests by students, pressing for restoration of suspended and expelled students’ status. The Baloch Council members have withdrawn their call for shutter down strike announced to end the protest. On the other hand, the protesting students have announced to go on hunger strike until their demands are met. Previously, Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal had taken notice of closure of Quaid-e-Azam University in Islamabad. He directed the Capital Administration to ensure resumption of academic activities and maintenance of peace in coordination with the university administration. The minister said a handful of students cannot play with the future of thousands of students. He said there cannot be any compromise on discipline in the university.
