Educational institutions to observe three holidays in a week due to smog

LAHORE (92 News) – Owing to environmental pollution due to smog, all public and private educational institutions will observe three holidays in a week due to smog from November 27 to January 15.

The Punjab government has issued a notification for closure of educational institutions on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Moreover, the private offices will also observe three holidays in a week from November 27 to January 15. However, educational institutions can arrange virtual classes while the staffers can work from home.

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar said that no negligence will be tolerated in government steps to control smog.

He said that the Punjab government had declared smog a calamity. "There is a ban on burning tyres and garbage in factories," he added.
