‘Ehsaas Undergraduate programme to be launched in next week’

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan will launch Ehsaas Undergraduate programme in next week. Special Assistant to Prime Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan said while briefing journalists regarding the decisions taken in the Federal Cabinet which met in Islamabad with Prime Minister Imran Khan in the chair. The special assistant said under the programme, 50 thousand scholarships will be granted to the students of needy families in next four years for uplift of education sector across the country. She also said nearly one hundred and twenty universities would benefit from this programme. Firdous Ashiq Awan said two percent quota would be for the disabled and minorities. She said children hailing from a family with an income of less than 45,000 rupees will be eligible for the programme. The special assistant said the cabinet also gave the go-ahead to launch the construction of 510 billion rupees Dasu Dam from next month. She said Prime Minister Imran Khan reiterated his resolve that the Evacuee Property Trust Board land would be used for establishing educational institutions and hospitals. “The premier directed the Evacuee Property Trust Board to ensure vacation of state properties from illegal occupants and utilize them for public welfare,” she maintained. Firdous further said that the cabinet also decided to grant permission for construction of high rise buildings in big cities, including Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar and Multan in line with the roadmap and identification of areas by the Civil Aviation Authority without compromising the security of air traffic.
