Eid rush causes gridlocks en route to Murree

MURREE (92 News) – Heavy traffic jams and long queues of vehicles exposed the claims of the traffic police that they had made plans to regulate the movement of vehicles in the hilly resort town during the Eid holidays. According to details, a large number of tourists as well as residents of twin cities thronged Murree to celebrate Eidul Fitr, triggering a massive traffic jam on all the roads leading to the hill station. According to information collected by 92 News, more than 10,000 vehicles crossed into the hilly town on Murree Expressway as most of the people arriving in the hill station from different parts of the country. Traffic police are performing their duties with in a highly professional manner to ensure smooth flow of traffic at the roads leading to the hill station. Several families remained trapped in vehicles for hours. A good number of tourists came back to the twin cities without approaching Murree.
