Eight more die of heatwave in Karachi; toll reaches 1,262

KARACHI (92 News) - Eight more people died of the severe heat prevailing in Karachi for the past 10 days, taking the overall death toll to 1,262 on Wednesday. As per reports, five people lost their lives in the Jinnah hospital, while three died in Abbassi Shaheed Hospital. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif landed in Karachi to be briefed about the ongoing situation. Also, he attended a briefing on harsh weather conditions in Karachi which claimed over one thousand lives. He also chaired a meeting on law and order situation of the city during his stay, water shortage and Greenline Metro in Karachi.
