ISLAMABAD (92 News) – ECP Secretary Babar Yaqoob has said that the elections will be held on July 25 despite security threats. Addressing a press conference on Thursday, he said that the publication and transportation of ballot papers is continuing. “The purpose of deploying the Army is to ensure peaceful environment,” he maintained. He said that big political parties have been demanding the deployment of the Pak Army in the elections. The ECP secretary said that the Peshawar incident proves that the security threats still exist. He said that ECP monitoring teams are ensuring the implementation of the code of conduct. Babar Yaqoob said that the code of conduct for security officials has been issued. “Electoral kits will be transported at the polling stations until July 24,” he added.
