KARACHI (92 News) – Abbasi Shaheed Hospital’s emergency department has been sealed after a doctor tested positive with the highly contagious coronavirus. According to the reports, the chief medical officer (CMO) at ASH tested positive for coronavirus. Abbasi Shaheed hospital is one the biggest public healthcare facility in Karachi. Dr Saleem Shaikh, additional police surgeon at the hospital said that the emergency department was sealed around 3pm after the doctor’s test report came. So far 253 doctors and medical staff have been infected with the COVID-19 in Pakistan as per the data shared by the National Emergency Operation Centre earlier this week. Grand Health Alliance said that near to 100 medical staffs were infected by the COVID-19. The Health Department confirmed that 357 doctors and health care workers also became victim of this pandemic. At least 124 doctors, 39 nurses and 90 health workers have been infected by the virus in the country, according to the data issued on April 22.
