RAWALPINDI (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan said on Monday that those who earn money through drugs and corruption are unacceptable in society, adding saying that entire society to fight together against corruption and drugs.

The prime minister said while addressing a ceremony at the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) headquarters in Rawalpindi. He said that corruption and drugs are destructive for society and the money made through these illicit activities was used to win elections in the past.

"Society can prevent the spread of corruption and drugs collectively. We have to work against drug peddlers to eliminate this evil. We have to save our youth from drugs. Seven million people in Pakistan are drug addicts," PM Khan added.

He further maintained that the entire family is ruined in which there is only one drug addict. "This menace is also spreading at educational institutions," he said.

"We will run a large scale campaign against the drugs all over the country. We will prepare all the ministries on this issue. Drugs are silent killers. Unfortunately, this problem has penetrated schools. We have to collectively fight this problem," PM Khan said.

He pointed out that the police or security forces alone can't eradicate drugs or corruption from society. It is a war that the entire nation has to fight. "For crime to end, we first have to accept and acknowledge it."

Citing examples of Singapore, he said the country has managed to reach where it is today because of its eradication of crime. "Recently a leader in the country was proven corrupt," the prime minister said, "the person took his life because he knew that he will no longer be accepted by society."
