Epidemics multiply miseries of flood victims in Balochistan

QUETTA (92 News) - Epidemics, including gastroenteritis, dengue, cholera, typhoid and malaria, are on the rise in the flood-hit areas of Balochistan.

According to a survey, 12 children have died of cholera during the last one month in Sanjawai area. Every third child is suffering from one or another disease. Healthcare facilities are almost rare in the area.

There are fears of a humanitarian catastrophe. The condition of pregnant women is worrying due to lack of proper healthcare facilities. Lacs of affectees are forced to move from pillar to post for tents, ration and medicines. They are forced to live under the open sky and waiting for assistance from the government.

There is no one to hear the plight of the flood victims.

Hundreds of villages in Sibi, Naseerabad, Lasbella and Jhal Magsi are still inundated. The problems of the flood victims are not reducing.
