LAHORE (92 News) - President Arif Alvi has said that the establishment says it is neutral, so it should be believed.

Talking to senior journalists in Lahore on Thursday, he said that he had not conveyed any message of the establishment.

"I tried to hold talks between the government and the opposition, but no development could be made in this regard," he maintained.

He said that politicians should sit together to resolve their matters. "It is a shameful act to present Fawad Chaudhary in court in handcuffs and veil," he opined.

The President said that he had told the prime minister that people would react to the arrest of Imran Khan. "Pakistan is on the decline economically, but will not default," he added.

He said that a reasonable politician cannot be minus through administrative acts. "The postponement of the elections will be violation of the constitution and destructive for democracy. The elections in both provinces should be held simultaneously," he maintained.

President Arif Alvi said that politicians should learn a lesson from the past.
