Ex-PM Abbasi's nomination papers challenged in SC

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The nomination papers of Former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has been challenged in the Supreme Court on Thursday here. As per details, petitioner Masood Ahmed Abbasi filed a petition in the apex court against the approval of the former premier’s nomination papers from NA-57, Rawalpindi constituency for upcoming polls. The petitioner stated that the former prime minister misstated facts in his nomination papers. The petitioner plead that the Lahore High Court’s decision should be declared null and void. Masood requested to the court that Shahid Khaqan Abbasi should not be allowed to contest in the general election 2018. Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Saqib Nisar constituted a bench on Masood's plea to hear the case about the nomination papers. Earlier, the LHC allowed Abbasi to contest from his home constituency of NA-57, Rawalpindi I.
