Exports are increasing, integrated policy improves economy: Hafeez

Addressing a conference "Future Summit" via video link, the adviser said that the government is pursuing policies to ensure a sustainable economic prosperity.

He said that the country's economy is on positive trajectory regardless of coronavirus. He said the government gave an economic stimulus package to support the industries and poor segments of the society.

Hafeez Shaikh said the package to the construction industry has accelerated economic activities in the country. He further said the government took difficult decisions to ensure fiscal discipline. He said we have cut expenditures and no supplementary grants have been given to the ministries.

On the other hand, Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood said that following the second wave of coronavirus, decisions regarding educational institutions will be taken in the meeting on November 23. The options to reduce the syllabus and start the new academic year in August are under consideration.
