LAHORE (92 News) – PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto said that exports could not be increased despite all experiences. Addressing a ceremony on Monday, he said that the government does not know how to hold dialogues with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). “Our rulers approached the IMF in a weak position. A labourer should be asked how he is living his life,” he said. Bilawal Bhutto said that the problems are continuously increasing for the poor. “Each state makes difficult decisions. It is also responsibility of the state to provide a relief to the masses,” he maintained. He said that there is need of experts to improve the economic situation of the country. “The economic conditions of the country are disappointing,” he said. He said that the government had put the GSP-Plus status in jeopardy due to its policies. “The country can become an agriculture country in a true sense if we invest in the agriculture sector. We had made the country a wheat-exporting country in the first year of our government. The government claiming of the change has made the country a wheat-importing country,” he said. The PPP chairman said that the economy cannot run without trade with the countries in the region. “We cannot improve our economy by closing three borders,” he said. He said that they had provided jobs to women in Thar. “Electricity is free for those consuming less than 100 units. “We are running public-private partnership in Sindh,” he added. Meanwhile, Bilawal Bhutto expressed grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives in the Skardu bus accident. He asked the government to extend all-out help to the bereaved families.
