Those facilitating Rao Anwaar will be held accountable: CJP

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Supreme Court warned on Monday that anyone found facilitating the former Malir SSP Rao Anwaar, wanted in the Naqeebullah Mehsud killing case, will be strictly dealt with. The court summoned the relevant officials over issuance of an overseas flight boarding pass to Rao Anwar. The court also asked the Sindh Police inspector general for an in-camera briefing. A three-member bench headed by the Chief Justice of Pakistan on Monday heard the Naqibullah Mehsood murder case. The CJP said that the court would protect Anwaar if he surrendered during the hearing. Strict action would be taken against those found facilitating Anwaar in his bid to escape. The chief justice asked who had facilitated Rao Anwaar and who had issued him the boarding pass. The court also asked whether a Bahria Town aircraft was used. The court asked whether Malik Riaz had filed an affidavit in this regard. A representative for Bahria Town said an affidavit had been submitted by Malik Riaz. The State Bank of Pakistan governor said two bank accounts of the suspended police officer had been seized. IGP AD Khwaja said private airline had issued Anwaar a boarding pass. The court summoned the relevant officials of the private airline and asked Khwaja for a briefing on airport.
