Faisal Edhi offers to provide 50 ambulances with medical staff to Indian PM

KARACHI (92 News) - Corona epidemic in India endangered thousands of human lives, with a spirit of humanitarian sympathy, Social worker and Edhi Foundation chief Faisal Edhi on Friday has offered to provide 50 ambulances with medical staff to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for COVID-19 patients.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Corona epidemic is out of control and threatening thousands of lives in India. India recorded over 300,000 new cases and 2,263 deaths from coronavirus in the last 24 hours. Its capital New Delhi continues to be among the worst hit cities, with hundreds of thousands of new infections and many new hospitalisations in the last few days.

As a goodwill gesture, Faisal Edhi wrote a letter to Indian PM Modi to provide 50 ambulances with medical staff. “We are very sorry to hear about the exceptionally heavy impact that the pandemic has had on your country, where a tremendous number of people are suffering immensely.”

Faisal offered India a fleet of 50 ambulances along with the foundation’s services in circumventing the current health conditions. He offered to personally lead and manage the humanitarian team.

“In order to implement our proposed service, we only request your permission to enter India as well as any necessary guidance from the local administration and police department,” the letter read.

Faisal said the Edhi Foundation is ready to deploy their teams in any area.

Speaking to 92 News, social leader Faisal Edhi said that although the biggest problem in India is oxygen, there are other problems as well.

Faisal Edhi said that if they get permission, they will take almost the same people including medical staff to India. “Our aim is to save the people there from troubles,” he added.
