ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday while expressing anger over government's failure to submit Senator Raja Zafarul Haq-led committee report, ordered Secretary Defense to submit report regarding use of army chief’s name in the agreement between the protesters and the government. The Islamabad High Court (IHC) judge Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui heard the case pertaining to the sit-in of religious parties at Faizabad. During the proceedings, Islamabad Inspector General of Police (IGP) and Intelligence Bureau (IB) Director General (DG) appeared before the court. The government again failed to submit report of a committee led by Senator Raja Zafarul Haq, formed to probe the issue of the amendment in the oath regarding the Khatm-e-Nabuwwat when the Elections Act 2017 was passed last year, to which the court expressed displeasure. The IB DG also failed to submit the audio recording in the court. The court directed the defense secretary to resubmit the report at the next hearing. The court later adjourned hearing till February 12.
