Fake accounts case: AC summons Zardari, Talpur on April 8
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The accountability court (AC) has summoned Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur on April 8 in fake accounts case.
According to details, the court has also directed other accused to attend the hearing.
According to details, AC Judge Malik Arshad has issued summon notice to nominated 24 suspects including the former president and his sister. The court also directed other accused to attend the hearing.
Hussain Lawai, Abdul Ghani Majeed, Anwar Majeed and Nimr Majeed from the Omni Group are also included in the nominated suspects. The court also summoned Bahria Town owner Malik Riaz and his son-in-law Zain Malik.
Earlier, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had handed over questionnaires comprising 54 questions each to Asif Ali Zardari and his son Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in three cases including Park Lane Estate reference, and subsequently directed them to submit their response within 10 days.
Reportedly, both of them were interrogated separately by two investigation teams led by NAB DG Irfan Mangi.
Property tycoon Malik Riaz, his son-in-law Zain, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari have been also included in the inquiry.
NAB summons Qaim Ali Shah on March 27
A day earlier, the NAB has summoned former Sindh chief minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah on March 27.
According to the sources, the NAB has issued notice to the former chief minister in a Thatta and Dadu Sugar Mills cases. Qaim Ali Shah has been directed to appear before the NAB at its old head office.
It was reported that the former CM has been asked by the anti-graft watchdog to bring along the sugar mills record.
Earlier today, speaking to the journalists, Shah said the anti-graft watchdog sent him three notices but they were not based on truth. “Documents failed to prove me guilty.”
It has been reported these days that NAB has received directions from ‘higher authorities’ to catch big fishes, “but I am a small man”, claimed Shah.
