ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The accountability court adjourned the fake accounts case till May 30. The court issued a show-cause notice to the Sindh chief secretary for not appearing in court. Talking to the media after the hearing, PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari said that the NAB chairman has no right to give interview. He demanded action against the NAB chairman for giving the interview. “The accused is a favourite child of the law. “The way the accused are presented handcuffed in court is an insult,” he said. Asif Zardari said that here people are being handcuffed and put into jails without proving a crime. On May 9, the accountability court adjourned the fake accounts case till May 21. PPP co-chairman Asif Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur appeared in court. The Omni Group accused also attended the hearing. On the other hand, Asif Zardari will not appear before the NAB. He has sought time from the NAB. Earlier on May 7, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) summoned former president Asif Ali Zardari on May 9. He was directed to bring the relevant record with him. According to the NAB officials, the Sindh government had given the contract to Harish and Company for water supply from the Special Initiative Department illegally, but no work was done on the project. They said that Harish and Company was the front company to Park Lane Estate which led to a loss of Rs60 million to the national exchequer. The NAB has already filed a reference in the accountability court.
