Fake accounts case: NAB arrests suspect running Zardari’s front company

RAWALPINDI (92 News) – National Accountability Bureau Rawalpindi has arrested Director of M/S Parthenon Pvt Ltd Muhammad Iqbal Khan Noori in fake accounts case. According to the reports, Iqbal Khan Noori managed to obtain 1.5 billion rupees loan from NBP and Summit Bank, which subsequently increased to over 3.5 billion rupees through corruption and corrupt practices. The corruption watchdog statement said that the NAB arrested Muhammad Iqbal Khan Noori, director of Parthenon Pvt Ltd which is a front for Park Lane Estate Pvt Ltd – a company owned by PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and father Asif. Suspect Noor has been accused of corrupt practices including misappropriating funds and extending loans. It ios worth mentioning here that Pakistan Peoples’ Party leaders Asif Ali Zardari, Faryal Talpur, Omni Group’s Anwar Majeed and his son Abdul Ghani Majeed, former Pakistan Stock Exchange chairperson Hussain Lawai, Summit Bank Senior Vice-President Taha Raza are among those being investigated in a case related to money laundering of billions through fictitious bank accounts.
Accountability court adjourns fake accounts case till April 29
Accountability Court Judge Arshad Malik adjourned the fake accounts case till April 29. PPP co-chairman Asif Zardari and Faryal Talpur appeared before court. The court had summoned 26 accused. The investigation officer told court that Iqbal Arain, one of the accused, has passed away. The court ordered to produce his death certificate. It also summoned the accused through the Sindh chief secretary. Moreover, the court issued bailable arrest warrants for three accused. Responding to journalists queries about the presidential system after the hearing, Asif Zardari said that the PPP is not in favor of the president system. “We will resist if an attempt made to introduce the presidential system,” he added. To another question, Asif Zardari said that it occurs in such acts. He said that a new experiment is carried out in the country daily. “The situation is getting worse with each passing day,” he maintained. Asif Zardari, Faryal Talpur’s interim bails extended till April 29.
