Farmers end protest after successful dialogues with govt

LAHORE (92 News) – Following successful dialogues between the government and Kisan Ittehad who staged protest sit-in at The Mall on Thursday. Talking to media in Lahore on Thursday, Kisan Ittehad leader Rizwan Iqbal said that said that the provincial government has accepted their demands. He said that they will meeting Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif later in the evening. The protesting farmers danced the drum beats after the government has accepted their demands. Previously, leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Syed Khurshid Ahmed Shah joined farmers’ protest in Lahore and expressed solidarity with them. He slammed the government, saying: “Fight with Modi instead of fighting with farmers.” Addressing the farmers, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Shah said that Bhutto’s party always stood by the farmers. The oppression of farmer community must be hurting the souls of the martyred leaders of PPP, he said. It is impossible to stop these farmers from protesting by putting them in jail, he added. Shah said that PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto would also join the protest of farmers if their demands are not met.
