MULTAN (92 News) – Farmers staged demonstrations against unavailability of Urea at the control rate in different cities on Thursday.

The demonstrations were staged in Lodhran, Kasur, Allahabad and Depalpur. The violent protesters also blocked Kasur-Depalpur Road.

They demanded that the sale of Urea on the black market should be stopped immediately.

Addressing the protesters, Lodhran Pakistan Kissan Ittehad president Rana Muhammad Amin and secretary general Rao Muhammad Abbas said that the district administration should ensure the sale of Urea fertilizer at the control rate price.

They said that if district administration did not provide fertilizers, they will block Sutlej Toll Plaza. “District administration knows about fertilizers stores that should be opened. Fertilizers are being sold on the black market and farmers are being humiliated,” they added.

In Burewala, farmers took out a rally against the fuel price adjustment (FPA) tax on electricity bills and fertilizer crisis. They burnt electricity bills outside the MEPCO office.
