Farmers block Charing Cross by throwing potatoes, tomatoes

LAHORE (92 News) – Farmers staged a novel protest against the government at Charing Cross on Monday. The farmers belong to another faction of the Kissan Ittehad vented their anger by throwing potatoes and tomatoes on the road. They also scuffled with citizens for blocking the road. They demanded a ban on the duty-free import of agricultural outputs from India in addition to a cut in the rates of electricity and waiver of all taxes, including GST. Expressing disappointment over the package announced by the government, he said that it had given nothing to the farmers. “The government is increasing our problems,” they said. The protesters said that they would not end the sit-in till fulfillment of their demands.
