Farooq Sattar including 14 others indicted over controversial speeches

KARACHI (92 News) – Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Tuesday has indicted Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Farooq Sattar and others in controversial speeches case. During the hearing, the MQM-P leader and other accused denied all the allegations. Meanwhile, the court has summoned investigation officer and witnesses in next hearing on July 29. Some 22 cases are registered against Farooq Sattar and other party members in different police stations for delivering proactive speeches, allegedly provoking the people to act against army and other state institutions in 2015. On October 3, 2018,  Farooq Sattar was indicted in a case pertaining to violating the Loudspeaker Act. As the judicial magistrate began hearing the case today, Sattar and others were indicted in the case. However, the MQM-P leader pleaded not guilty to the charges. Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Farooq Sattar and others accused were indicted by a city court in a 31-year-old case pertaining to violation of the Loudspeaker Act. However, Sattar, Karachi Mayor Waseem Akhtar, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Haider Abbas Rizvi and other MQM leaders were indicted by a city court in a 2015 case pertaining to Loudspeaker Act violation. All accused pleaded not guilty to the charges. The court summoned the witnesses on October 17 and adjourned the hearing.
