LAHORE (92 News) - Former captain of the national cricket team and fast bowler Wasim Akram has admitted of being addicted to cocaine in the past.

Wasim Akram has made many surprising revelations in his autobiography 'Sultan: A Memoir'. According to a media report, Wasim Akram has made this confession in his upcoming book 'Sultan: A Memoir'. Wasim Akram has admitted that after his career ended, he was addicted to cocaine.

Wasim Akram revealed that he was first offered cocaine during a party in England. “I started parties. The worst part was that I became addicted to cocaine. My cocaine addiction became more severe with the passage of time. At one point I felt like I needed it to work.”

Fast bowler Wasim Akram said that due to addiction, I became a victim of loneliness. “I had admitted to rehab center to get rid of addiction. My wife Huma said that I need help. Huma helped me to get rid of addiction. I quit cocaine after the death of my first wife Huma in 2009.”

Wasim Akram said that he has been suffering from diabetes for the past many years. “It was not easy to bring it all forward. There is a little problem due to the publication of the book, but I wanted to tell my children the story of my life.”
