FATF decides to retain Pakistan in grey list till June 2020

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) has decided to retain Pakistan in the grey list till June 2020, thanks to the effective diplomacy that foiled Indian nefarious designs. According to a statement issued by the Finance Ministry on Friday, the FATF will review the implantation of the recommendations made by Pakistan in June. It stated that Pakistan has implemented nine extra recommendations of the FATF. “We admit the political resolve for the implementation of the FATF recommendations at a high level,” it said. The statement said that Pakistan has made a reasonable progress on the implementation of the action plan. “Pakistan should implement more recommendations till June 2020,” it added. The Pakistani delegation was led by Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Hammad Azhar accompanied by officials of the Ministry of Finance, the State Bank, and Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). More than 800 representatives from 205 countries and jurisdictions around the world, the IMF, UN, World Bank and other organizations participated in these meetings.
