FATF legislation in Senate: Shehbaz Sharif phones Bilawal Bhutto and Fazalur Rehman

LAHORE (92 News) – Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif phoned PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto and JUI-F chief Maulana Fazalur Rehman to discuss the legislation about the FATF in the Senate. They decided to formulate a committee comprising of senators of the joint opposition. The committee will review the laws pertaining the FATF keeping in view the national interest. Addressing a joint press conference after a meeting with PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto on Tuesday, Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif had said that now Pakistan and PM Imran Khan cannot go side by side. He said that the PTI had destroyed the country first by staging the sit-in and then coming to power. "The incompetent government cannot control the situation. We will have to get rid of it as early as possible," he said. He said that they would take the agenda of the Rahbar Committee to the all-parties conference (APC) after Eidul Azha. "The opposition will make any decision with regard to in-house change or mid-term elections in the meeting of APC. After Eid, there will be a good news for the people through the Rahbar Committee meeting and APC," he maintained. Speaking on the occasion, PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto said that the government will be toppled when they will be in the half way. Earlier, Bilawal Bhutto had held a meeting with JUI-F chief Maulana Fazalur Rehman. JUI-F Maulana Fazalur Rehman assured Bilawal Bhutto of full support. He said that they do not consider the government justified. "We will decide the future strategy during a meeting of Rahbar Committee after Eid." The opposition leader said that the opposition stance on the issue of the FATF and the NAB is clear-cut. "The opposition is on the same page. Now Imran Khan will have to go. The decision made by the joint opposition will be followed," he said.
