Fawad Ch apologises over ‘offensive’ words against Khursheed Shah

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry on Thursday apologised to the opposition members for using offensive words against on former opposition leader Khursheed Shah. Criticising the PPP, Fawad Ch said that they destroyed the public institutions, including the Radio Pakistan. He also used very harsh word during his speech, saying that the previous governments have looted Pakistan and recruited their favourites to Pakistan Steel Mill, Pakistan International Airlines and Radio Pakistan. "If you call a thief a thief, they get offended. The country cannot run like it has been for the past two to three decades,” Fawad Ch said. On the remarks of information minister, as the House broke into chaos. NA Speaker Asad Qaiser tried to stop Fawad Ch from uttering offensive or non-parliamentary words. In reaction, the opposition staged a brief walkout from the NA session in protest over his offensive words. Khursheed Shah demanded apology from the information minister. In addition, Khursheed Shah moved a privilege motion over allegations leveled against him by Fawad Chauhdry. Following their walkout, Petroleum Minister Ghulam Sarwar and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs approached the opposition members and convinced them to come back to the House. As the session resumed, Chaudhry took to the floor once again and apologised. However, NA Speaker Asad Qaiser removed the non-parliamentary words from the session.
