ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Information Minister Fawad Chaudhary has termed the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) an extremist party, saying the party that should have been ended won in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa elections due to mistakes of the PTI.

Addressing a press conference after a meeting of the federal cabinet on Tuesday, he said that coming of Maulana Fazalur Rehman to the power was bad luck. "Disappointment was visible from the conversation of Asif Zardari. It seems that he has not received the deal," he added.

He said that Maryam Nawaz had always committed a mistake when the government is in difficulty. "She has never disappointed us and now she has committed another mistake," he maintained.

The minister termed the PML-N, the PPP and the JUI leaders as political dwarfs. "The parties like the JUI cannot be alternative of the PTI." He said that the new amendment to the Election Act would end horse-trading. "

Fawad Chaudhary urged the PTI workers to strengthen Prime Minister Imran Khan setting aside their differences.

He said that the prices of electricity had increased due to costly agreements inked during the Nawaz era.

He said that the payments worth Rs 134 billion had been made to the independent power producers (IPPs). "The production of cotton has increased by 19.5 percent. In Pakistan, 240,000 vehicles are being produced. All economic indicators are positive," he maintained.
