Fawad Chaudhry refutes reports about his resignation

JEHLUM (92 News) – Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry on Sunday refuted the reports about his resignation. Talking to the journalists, Fawad Chaudhry said that he has clearly reservations on the matter of Pakistan Television (PTV) Managing Director (MD) but the final decision will be from the prime minister. The minister denied reports about sending his resignation to the office of the prime minister. He also said he didn’t have any contact with Prime Minister Imran Khan, adding he will resign from his designation as information minister if the prime minister will say to him. “The prime minister was in Rajhanpur, while I am busy in the wedding of my brother,” the minister said. He mentioned that the matter will become clear in his meeting with the prime minister tomorrow. Fawad Chaudhry said that he would meet the prime minister tomorrow and will do what he will tell me to do. “Making a team is discretion of the prime minister. He will keep anyone in the team, which he will think better,” he added. To a question about Prime Minister’s Advisor Naeemul Haq has said that your resignation letter has reached to the PM’s office, Fawad Chaudhry said that Naeemul Haq doesn’t know anything.
Rift surfaces within government over PTV matter
 Earlier, divisions and rifts within the ministers’ of the government surfaced as Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Political Affairs Naeemul Haq said that all the newcomers in PTI must understand and follow the philosophy of Imran Khan. In series of tweet, Naeemul Haq strongly criticized pointing finger at Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry. “The Prime Minister has full confidence in the Board of PTV and it’s management and believes PTV should be an independent organisation like BBC and the government will take all steps necessary towards that end,” he tweeted. In another tweet, Naeemul Haq said, “It has always been the philosophy of PMIK to focus on institutional development which can become the basis of national development. The PM is determined to change the national landscape in every sphere by making all national institutions autonomous and professionally managed.” Meanwhile, the PM adviser indirectly quoting the minister harshly said in his tweet, “All the newcomers in PTI must understand and follow the philosophy of Imran Khan. PTI is a strong ideological movement and its success has been due to steadfast determination of its leader to pursue justice and fairness. Anyone thinking otherwise has no future in the party.”
Fawad responds to Naeemul Haq
Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry reacted to Special Assistant to Naeemul Haq’s statement by tweeting a couplet of Ghalib. To which, Chaudhry he responded by tweeting Mirza Asadullah Khan Ghalib’s couplet. The rift between the two is surfaced in public comments, Fawad Chaudhry said some special assistants and advisers to the prime minister were backing the Pakistan Television managing director who was taking a huge salary package despite the financial crisis PTV was facing.The minister said the bleak financial condition of PTV was clear to everybody. “We are not able to pay [monthly] pensions amounting to a few thousand rupees, but at the same time, a senior person was netting more than Rs2.5 million per month. This is unfair.”
