Fawad urges for increasing cultural ties between Pak, Saudi Arabia

RIYADH (92 News) – Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry has underscored the importance of increasing cultural ties and people to people contacts between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Speaking to the journalists in Riyadh, He said Pakistan is giving a full support in cultural revival of Saudi Arabia. He said the Indus civilization of Pakistan is more than five thousand years old and we have a diversified and rich cultural history. The minister said our institutions of culture and performing arts are well established and they are ready to extend cooperation to Saudi Arabia. He said Saudi Arabia can utilize the services of expert calligraphers, artists, directors and film actors of Pakistan. Fawad also said that Saudi Arabia is keen to increase cultural ties with Pakistan. He said a festival by Pakistan will be organized in Saudi Arabia next month which will be attended by large number of Pakistani expatriates. The information minister said that Pak-Saudi ties have been improving since the coming into power of PTI led government. He said recently Pakistan government waived visa restrictions for Saudi nationals and hopefully a large number of Saudi tourists will visit Pakistan to experience the scenic beauty of Northern Areas and other cultural places in the country. The minister said Saudi Airlines has been requested to provide Pakistan dramas and films with Arabic dubbing. He said two million Pakistanis residing in Saudi Arabia have an important role in national economy. Nawaz, Zardari present themselves as Mandela & Gandhi
Fawad Chaudhry has said that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and former president Asif Ali Zardari are presenting themselves as Nelson Mandela and Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi.

While during a press conference in Riyadh, the information minister criticized the opposition leaders of Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP).

He said that Nawaz, Zardari considered themselves like a Mandela and Ghandi. “Both the leaders looted the national wealth and they have to return the public wealth,” he maintained. Fawad Chaudhry further termed that Maryam Nawaz and Bilawal Bhutto have initiated ‘save the father’ campaign as they face investigation under the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). “Accountability process will be continued and it cannot be stopped due to the train march,” he added. He said that the government was offering Nawaz Sharif same as the Supreme Court granted bail for treatment in Pakistan. “But the former premier did not accept the offer of the government,” he added. Discussing about current relation with Saudi Arabia, Fawad also said that Pakistan and Saudia desired to initiate joint cultural activities, for this purpose, bilateral film and drama making are being promoted.
