Fazlur Rehman to meet GDA head Pir Pagara, MQM leaders

KARACHI (92 News) – Maulana Fazlur Rahman, candidate for presidential election from grand alliance of opposition parties except PPP, will meet GDA head Pir Pagara and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leaders ahead of the presidential election. Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) spokesperson Allama Owais Noorani said the JUI-F chief will meet GDA head Pir Pagara Sibghatullah Shah Rashdi at 5pm today. Maulana Fazl will also meet Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and other MQM leaders at their head office in Bahadurabad, the MMA spokesperson added. The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice Sardar Muhammad Raza scrutinized nomination papers of all three presidential candidates in Islamabad. There are three candidates in the race to become the president as the PTI has fielded Dr Arif Alvi while the PPP’s Aitzaz Ahsan and Maulana Fazlur Rehman of the MMA have filed their nomination papers. Nomination papers of three main contestants were found to be in order. All three candidates appeared before the ECP by 10am bearing their CNICs and assembly cards.
