FBR offices to remain open today, tomorrow to facilitate taxpayers

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued instructions to all Large Taxpayer Units, Corporate Regional Tax Offices and Regional Tax Offices to extend office hours for Friday and Saturday to facilitate the taxpayers in payment of duties and taxes and filing of income tax returns. They have been directed to extend office hours today till 8 pm and tomorrow till 10 pm. Earlier, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), on March 16, had extended the deadline of filing of income tax returns and statements for the tax year 2018 until March 31. According to a press release issued by FBR, the decision had been taken on demand of various trade bodies, organizations and other taxpayers. All those individuals who had not yet filed their tax returns, had been urged to take advantage of this extension.
Prime Minister Imran Khan says reforms in FBR inevitable
Earlier, after assuming charge of Prime Minister's Office, Imran Khan has said that Imran Khan said that reforms in the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) are inevitable.
“The businessman will have to think that giving tax is self-respect. There is need to develop the tax culture in Pakistan,” he said. PM Imran Khan said that they are bringing investors. “There is potential in Pakistan. Our financial deficit will be overcome by improving tourism,” he said. He said that he had talked to Razzaq Dawood to make the FBR business-friendly. The prime minister said that 62 people have wealth more than three billion people. “My top priority is to remove difficulties of traders,” he said.
