Federal cabinet approves import of 100,000 tonnes of wheat

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The federal cabinet presided over by Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Tuesday has approved to import 100,000 tonnes of wheat. According to the sources, the cabinet has also approved formation of a commission to probe petrol crisis during the meeting. The meeting approves bill to protect domestic workers in Islamabad and It also ratified the decisions of the ECC on July 22. The sources said that the members were also briefed on dues of media houses as well as economic indicators of the country. A discussion was also held on institutional reforms report during the meeting. A draft of rules and regulations for the appointment of Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) chairman and members was also presented for suggestions. The cabinet was also briefed about the economic indicators. The cabinet members were directed to strictly implementation of SOPs related to COVID-19. It was also told in the cabinet meeting that if precautions are not taken during Eidul Azha and Muharram, the situation is likely to deteriorate. The prime minister maintained that people must use masks and more businesses will be opened when the situation improves. PM appeals to people to give priority to online sacrifice."If the people do not take precautionary measures then the situation is likely to worsen," it added.
