ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The federal cabinet rejected a summary proposing a 10 percent increase in the salaries of lawmakers.

Addressing a press conference after a meeting of the federal cabinet on Tuesday, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said that the summary proposing a 10 percent adhoc allowance in the salaries of the lawmakers had been rejected on the basis of austerity.

He said that instructions had been issued to release wheat to provinces. "The custom duty is being waived from big vehicles," he added.

Fawad Chaudhry said that the cabinet was briefed about the electronic voting machine and overseas Pakistanis' right to vote. "The 5G technology will be launched next year."

He said that the communication system will be introduced in remote areas as well. "Hackers' effort did not bear fruit and the FBR data remained safe," he added.
