ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The federal government has announced to form an inquiry commission to be headed by an impartial retired judge on the issue of a letter sent by six judges of the Islamabad High Court.

Addressing a press conference on Thursday, Federal Minister for Law Azam Nazir Tarar said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa had held a meeting over the issue. "There should be no institutional interference. The government is not oblivious to its duties," he added.

He said that there would be no compromise on the freedom of the judiciary. "We will present the matter before the cabinet tomorrow," he added.

Azam Nazir Tarar said that the country would be run as per constitution. "The letter should be thoroughly probed. The law demands formation of a commission to probe the matter. The commission will also determine whether the writing of the letter is misconduct or not. The commission head will be announced in a couple of days," he maintained.
