Federal govt appoints Aamir Khan as new SECP chairman

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The federal government appointed Aamir Khan as new chairman of the Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) on Friday. The approval of new SECP chairman was accorded by the federal cabinet. Khan has been associated with the corporate sector for the last 30 years or so. Before his new appointment, he was discharging his duties as the commissioner of the SECP's Specialized Companies Division. Khan, who is MBA and MSc in International Banking, has replaced Farrukh Sabazwari and ill serve the top post for three years, says a notification issued by the finance ministry. He has extensive experience in banking, capital markets, structuring of financial solutions or products, leading national initiatives, business transformation and regulatory reform.
