Federal govt moves SC against IHC judgment in cipher trial case

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The federal government has filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the judgment of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) in the cipher trial case on Friday.

The federal government, in the petition, contended that the judgment issued by the IHC on November 21 should be nullified. It stated that the IHC had not reviewed the facts while announcing the judgment.

It contended that the IHC had no power to end the special status of the court.

The petition has been filed through Raja Rizwan Abbasi. The PTI founder and Special Court Judge Abual Hasnat, the FIA DG, IG, DC and Islamabad chief commissioner has been made the party in the petition.
