Fehmida Mirza demands imposition of rain emergency in Sindh

KARACHI (92 News) – Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Fehmida Mirza has demanded the imposition of rain emergency across the province. Talking to the media on Tuesday, she said that the rain situation in Sindh is very concerning. "There is need to take appropriate steps on time. The flood situation can be like 2011 due to heavy rains," she maintained. The minister said that there is need to focus on coastal districts like Thatha and Badin. Criticizing the government, PTI leader Haleem Adil Sheikh said that all roads have submerged due to the rainwater. "It has become very difficult for motorists on roads," he added. PML-F leader Nusrat Sehar Abbasi said that there was no one to take care of the city. "Everyone tries to become the owner of the city when there is need to get benefits," she maintained. She said that the rain always multiplies the problems of the Karachiites. Nusrat Sehar Abbasi said that rains have destroyed the household belongings of the people. "There is a risk of epidemics outbreak after the rains, which will increase the problems of the citizens," she said. The PML-F leader said that the powerful people have made the life of the people a hell by leveling allegations against each other. PSP leader Khawaja Izhar said the situation proves the Sindh government has failed. He demanded that the Sindh chief minister should be held accountable for the situation.
