Today is historic day as court has ordered to abolish interest: Sirajul Haq

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Sirajul Haq has said that today is the historic day as the Federal Shariat Court (FSC) has ordered to abolish the interest system from the country.

Talking to the media on Thursday, he said that the government will have to abolish the interest system. "Now the government will have to take practical steps in this regard soon."

The Jamaat-e-Islami said that the court had ordered to make economic laws according to the Islamic principles. “The FSC has banned interest. I pay tribute to scholars, lawyers and citizens for guidance in this regard. The interest system and Pakistan cannot move along with each other. Now, it is a test for the federal government that it gets it implementation,” he added.

He said that he is very thankful to Allah that the Jamaat-e-Islami won the war against interest system. “Allah has given success to the nation on the night of the 27th Ramadan. The constituition demands that the interest-based system should be banned,” he concluded.
