FIA gets Rangers-like special powers under Protection of Pakistan Act 2014
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) was granted powers to detain alleged criminals for 90 days under Protection of Pakistan Act 2014.
The agency can now conduct raid anywhere and at anytime to arrest accused of corruption cases in Sindh like Rangers.
The agency has been granted powers after the evidence of money laundering in terrorist activities.
The agency will now cooperate with other law-enforcement agencies in investigating different cases.
