FIA issues show-cause notice to Hamza Shehbaz, starts proceedings to freeze his accounts & property

LAHORE (92 News) – The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Saturday issued a show-cause notice to Opposition Leader in the Punjab Assembly Hamza Shehbaz.

Sources said that the notice has been issued to Hamza Shhehbaz for alleged money laundering of Rs 25 billion.

He has been directed to inform about the sources of alleged income deposited in the accounts of peons and clerks. The property, according to sources, will be confiscated for not disclosing the income.

In addition to Hamza Shehbaz, show-cause notices have also been issued to Ali Tareen and other key accused in different cases.

Reacting to the notice, PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb said that PM Imran Khan had started exacting political revenge through the FIA after the NAB.

She said that the mentioned properties are already part of the legal process. "No proof could be presented against Hamza Shehbaz in the accountability court," he added.
