FIA raids Zardari’s sugar mill in Badin

BADIN (92 News) – The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Sunday raided Khoski sugar mill of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman and former president Asif Ali Zardari in Badin. As per reports, the raid was conducted after revelations made by Zardari’s close aide Anwar Majeed during the FIA interrogation. During the raid, the rangers surrounded the sugar mill and checked the different documents. The digital record has been also in the possession and the computers, laptop, hard disk also captured. The FIA has taken into custody the record of bank transaction and sugar mills transactions. It was reported that the management was under control the close aide of Zardari Anwar Majeed. The employees of the mill including manager are recording their statements. Earkier on Saturday, a local court in Karachi extended the physical remand of Anwar Majeed and his son, Abdul Ghani Majeed. FIA presented Abdul Ghani Majeed before additional district and sessions judge, south. Anwar and his son were arrested on August 15 in connection to a case pertaining to money laundering through fake bank accounts. The FIA is investigating 32 people in relation to money laundering from fictitious accounts, including Asif Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur. Zardari’s close aide Hussain Lawai was arrested last month in connection with the probe.
