ISLAMABAD (92 News) – In an important development in housemaid Tayyaba torture case, the final challan was submitted in the Supreme Court on Thursday. According to sources, former judge Raja Khurram and his wife Maheen Zafar were declared guilty in the case. Maheen Zafar was held responsible for directly torturing Tayyaba while Raja Khurram was declared guilty for not providing the maid with proper medical treatment. The statements of four neighbors of Raja Khurram were included in the challan while Tayyaba’s medical report was also a part of the challan, sources said. Accused Khurram and his wife were presented before the court of Additional Session Judge Raja Asif Ali on Wednesday. When the court questioned why Tayyaba was not presented in the court, the counsel for the accused said that Tayyaba is in state custody and the Supreme Court had not ordered to hand her over to her parents. The court, while extending the bail of accused Khurram and his wife till February 10, called Tayyaba’s parents in the next hearing.
