Finance minister gives signs of not increasing prices of petroleum products

LAHORE (92 News) - Finance Minister Miftah Ismail said that they will try that prices of petroleum products do not increase.

Addressing a press conference on Thursday, he said that they are bearing loss of Rs30 per liter on petrol. “There is contradiction in actions and deeds of Imran Khan. Imran Khan made contract with IMF to increase prices of petroleum products. As per contract price of petroleum products should have been Rs245 per liter,” he added.

He said that they are bearing loss of Rs102 billion just witin one month. “The expense of running entire civil government becomes Rs45billion. There has been not any consideration of increasing petroleum prices till now. If there will be need of increasing petroleum prices then we will not increase sales tax and levy tax,” he maintained.

Miftah Ismail said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif does not have any plan of overburdening masses. “Motorcyclists do not have power to purchase expensive petrol,” he concluded.
