FIR lodged against robbers for murder of medical student

KARACHI (92 News) – A first investigation report (FIR) was lodged against robbers for the murder of a 20-year-old medical student Nimrah Baig in Karachi who was killed in encounter between police and the robbers at Anda Mor in North Karachi. According to the details garnered, the FIR was filed against the robbers under sections pertaining to police encounter, murder, attempted murder and terrorism on Sunday. Policeman Adnan, son of Abdul Malik, of Noor Jehan police station is the plaintiff in the case. Police said the case was registered against deceased suspect Riaz and his injured accomplice. Both the suspects hail from Rahim Yar Khan. They said the investigation team was probing the incident from every aspect. It was also reported that both the suspects hail from Rahim Yar Khan and efforts are under way to acquire their criminal records. Furthermore, a three-member committee to investigate the incident has been formed by Additional Inspector General Karachi headed by Deputy Inspector General (DIG) CIA Arif Hanif. SSP Rao said, a team comprising two DIGs and three SSPs is investigating the case and that they are waiting for the final post-mortem report. If evidence is found, then serious action will be taken against the policemen involved in the incident. According to the post-mortem report, Nimrah received the bullet on the right side of her head which penetrated 2.5cm deep inside the skull. The bullet seemed to have been fired from a rifle firearm. It was not traced who fired the bullet which was struck the head of deceased Nimra Baig. Sindh Minister for Local Government Saeed Ghani paid his visit to the house of medical student and condoled over the death of Nimrah with her family. He also assured to transparent investigation of the tragic incident.
Medical student killed in police, robbers’ cross firing
Earlier, medical student Nimrah was shot dead during exchange of fire between police and robbers in Shadman Town of Karachi. As per details, medical student Nimrah was laid to rest and the victims’ family raised the concerns about police encounter. They demanded transparent investigation, terming the responsible of Nimra’s death as police firing.  The committee was formed to investigate the matter on directions of Additional IG Ameer Shaikh. Earlier today, the incident took place at Anda Mor in Karachi during which one robber killed and another arrested.SSP Central assured that a detailed investigation into the incident will be done. On the other hand, the doctor who operated on the girl Nimra said several x-rays and CT Scan were done on the girl but the bullet could not be found in the body. Doctors also added that Nimrah suffered head damage due to a bone breaking in the her head.The doctor further said probably she was shot from a small weapon; however, it was difficult to uncertain until a post-mortem was done.
