Firdous Awan lashes out at Mufti Muneeb over moon controversy

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Tuesday lashed out at Ruet-e-Halal Committee Chairman Mufti Muneebur Rehman over the moon controversy. Speaking to the journalists, the special assistant said that Mufti Muneebur Rehman always disappears for the whole year from the scene. She said that the religious leader appeared two days before the Eid. Dr Firdous termed that Islamic philosophy running one side and the science goes another side. She demanded to reconstitute Ruet-e-Halal Committee. She said that the celebration of Eidul Fitr today is the positive decision of government. She said that the government was making all out efforts to end the moon controversy and expressed confidence that next Eidul Fitr would be celebrated across the country on same day. Criticizing the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) leadership, Dr Firdous said that Punjab’s former chief minister Shehbaz Sharif was missing and added that they wanted Shehbaz to return homeland. The special assistant said that the opposition wanted to use masses as fuel to get their personal interests. She said that the people knew that who were involved in money laundering. She further said that people were paying price for the wrong policies of the former rulers.
Firdous calls upon media to come up with positive suggestions
Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has urged media to come forward for bringing about an improvement in the system. Addressing a ceremony at Lahore Press Club on Tuesday afternoon, she said media should give positive suggestions to the government so as to make Pakistan an advanced country. The special assistant said progress and prosperity of journalist fraternity is the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan. She said media persons have always supported Imran Khan on matters of national interest for changing the old system. Firdous Awan said the government is providing all possible facilities to the journalists and all-out measures are afoot for their well-being and betterment. She said the government is paying ample attention to progress of the marginalized areas of the country. She regretted that in the past, the journey of development was confined to a few cities only. She said difference of opinion is necessary for the improvement of the performance. The special assistant said journalists will be given their share in the Housing Scheme. She said a new advertising policy is being formulated. She said wage board award for journalists will be discussed after Eid.
