LAHORE (92 News) – Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the world should expose the treatment being meted to minorities in India. Addressing the International Sikh Convention in connection with 550th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak at Governor’s House on Saturday, she said that Prime Minister Imran Khan's vision of opening the Kartarpur corridor is a great initiative of promoting inter-faith harmony. “Pakistan is committed to ensure the provision of all basic rights to the minorities as per the teachings and principles of Islam.” Firdous Ashiq Awan emphasized the need for defeating the extremist mindset in the society. He said that the oppressed people of Occupied Kashmir consider the Sikh community as their strength. “Every follower of Baba Guru Nanak will become voice of innocent people of Occupied Kashmir.” Minister for Interfaith Harmony Noorul Haq Qadri said that Pakistan is committed to open the Kartarpur corridor in November 2019 regardless of the tense situation over the Kashmir issue. He said that the initiative of Kartarpur corridor was taken by Prime Minister Imran Khan to facilitate the Sikh community to visit Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur. Noorul Haq Qadri said that the government would provide all necessary facilities to the minorities at their sacred and worship places. He said that the message of Baba Guru Nanak was the message of humanity, peace and love which needs to be promoted in the world. Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs Naeemul Haque has said that the government is considering a proposal to issue multiple-entry visa to the Sikh pilgrims. He invited the members of the Sikh community living abroad to invest in Pakistan.
