Firdous Shamim resigns from Sindh Assembly as opposition leader

KARACHI (92 News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Firdous Shamim Naqvi has on Friday resigned from the Sindh Assembly as the opposition leader.

It is pertinent to mention here that Firdous Shamim tended his resignation before the Senate polls.

According to the sources, Firdous Shamim Naqvi has forwarded his resignation to party leadership. The PTI leader said he has been associated with the party for 24 years and it was the second time that his resignation was sought.

It has further been learnt that Haleem Adil Sheikh is likely to replace Firdous Shamim Naqvi as the opposition Leader in the Sindh Assembly. Let it be known that PTI had earlier asked Naqvi to resign on September 30, 2020.

The sources also said that Firdous Shamim Naqvi will be made the prime minister's focal person in Sindh.
