First case of Omicron variant of COVID-19 reported in Karachi

KARACHI (92 News) – The first case of Omicron variant of Coronavirus has been reported in Karachi.

New variant has found in a woman who was tested positive for corona. Affected woman came from abroad. She is undergoing treatment in a private hospital due to corona.

Sindh Health Department started contact tracing of the woman.

Sindh Parliamentary secretary for health Qasim Soomro in an interview has said that the woman has travel history and her contact history is being ascertained so that required measures could be taken to contain the further spread of this variant.
